It Happened One Day : Take Back Our Government

It happened one day.  It just happened.  Someone opened their mouth to answer a question and then a light went on.

It wasn't a new light.  The wiring was old.  It was a couple centuries old in fact.  Even the bulb was much older than the question.

It's just that someone unwittingly turned it off in 1913 and few seemed to notice.  Perhaps it just wasn't so dark at the time.

Today is a time of night.  The sun is down and even the moon is barely a crescent.  Dark days one might call it.  I call it the long night.

Then one day a question was asked of a senator from Montana.  "Why did you vote against a nationally popular bill?"  And his answer flipped the switch.  He answered with one word, "Montana".

That's when the old light turned on.  Things that had been lost in shadows were suddenly rediscovered.  Another question rose amongst our thoughts.

Why is this not the answer to every 'why' for every senator on any vote?  "Why did I vote that way?  What state am I from?"

Let's admit we were gravely mistaken when we ratified the 17th amendment and now determine to repeal it.  Let the states back into the federal government they established.

We elect our state governments but we don't elect telemarketers and campaign organizations.  Repealing the 17th will be a huge step towards taking back our government.

Get the telemarketers out of our senate and return the power to the states.  Repeal the 17th.
